Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Nitrate Media collects through nitrate.media, why we collect it and how we look after it. Nitrate Media is a video production company based in Karachi, Pakistan.
What we collect
- Project briefs and enquiries. When you use our "Start a project" form, email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you give us: your name, company, email address, phone or WhatsApp number if you add it, and the details of your project (service, brief, deliverables, deadline, budget range, reference links and how you heard about us).
- Job applications. If you send a CV to careers@nitrate.media, we receive the information in your email and CV.
- Website usage. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed and how visitors arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device, browser and pages visited. It does not tell us who you are.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a costed quote.
- To plan and deliver any project that follows.
- To consider job applications.
- To keep a record of our business correspondence.
- To understand and improve how the website works.
We never sell or rent your information, and we do not add you to a newsletter or mailing list without asking.
Services that process your information
- Web hosting and email. Form submissions are delivered to our sales team by email through our web hosting provider.
- Google Analytics for website usage, under Google's own privacy policy.
- HubSpot CRM. If you enquire, your contact details and enquiry may be stored in our customer management system (HubSpot) so we can manage your request and any project that follows.
- Video players. Our work reel plays videos from YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode) and Google Drive. These services may set their own cookies when you press play.
- WhatsApp, if you choose to contact us there, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
We may also share project details with crew and suppliers who work on your project, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and project correspondence for as long as it is useful for the business relationship and our records, and then delete it. You can ask us to delete your enquiry or application at any time. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Analytics account.
Cookies
The site uses the Google Analytics cookies described above, and YouTube or Google Drive may set cookies if you play a video. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. The site works normally without them.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@nitrate.media and we will respond.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
Website terms
- This website gives a general description of the services we offer. Scope, price and delivery dates are agreed for each project in a written quote.
- Nothing on this website is an offer. A quote becomes binding only when it is confirmed in writing by Nitrate Media.
- Work shown on this site is credited to our actual role on each project. Third-party names, titles and trademarks belong to their owners.
- The text, images, logo and videos on this website belong to Nitrate Media or are used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our written consent.
- We work to keep the information on this site accurate, but we do not guarantee that it is complete or current, and we are not liable for decisions made only on the basis of this website.
- Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Karachi have jurisdiction over any dispute.
